Enneper surface

Geometry

Enneper's surface is a minimal surface — its mean curvature is zero everywhere, so it can be realised as a soap film. Discovered by Alfred Enneper in 1864.

x = u − u³/3 + u·v²
y = v − v³/3 + u²·v
z = u² − v²

Raising the domain range makes the surface fold over itself and develop three-fold self-intersections. Increase the grid resolution for a finer mesh.
