Cubic harmonic curve
Geometry
A unit-circle motion run at angular frequency b, minus a cubed, high-frequency harmonic. Angles are in radians; the trace runs from 0 to 2π.
x(t) = cos(b·t) − [cos(nt)]³y(t) = sin(b·t) − [sin(nt)]³
b runs from 0 to 12 in steps of 0.1, so the base loop may take several turns (or barely advance). Frequency n and power p are integers; amplitude A scales both subtracted terms. The trace closes on itself only when b is a whole number.
